And now, a word from one of our partners

Turns our that our recent blog post featuring an overview of laboratory vortex mixers created quite a stir (haha) and generated more comments and feedback than any other to date.

One of those voices belonged to our good friends at Heathrow Scientific who wondered why we had omitted calling attention to their truly unique vortexer.

We goofed, and now its our pleasure to give them the opportunity to tell everyone the rest of the story. We are honored to hand over the microphone to our first ever guest columnist. Take it away Erin Hankforth!

One mixing head for a variety of tube sizes makes the Vortexer™, by Heathrow Scientific, the most functional unit for a vast range of applications requiring gentle mixing to high speed vortexing.

Changing mixing heads can cost researchers valuable time and money when constantly switching sample vessels. But with the Vortexer, the head stays on and researchers can perform several operations in a single mixing platform. This innovative product eliminates the need to swap out head units with a patent pending mixing head that accommodates six tube sizes (0.2, 0.5, 1.5/2, 5, 15, 50 mL ), and a standard assay plate. For those high-volume or tight deadline mixes, a center pad area is also included in the mixing head that can be used for quick touch operation.

With bench-top space at a premium, the Vortexer footprint is no bigger than the blender in your kitchen. This opens up space and helps increase organization and workflow. Also, the counter balance system and soft feet minimize vibration and prevent the Vortexter from walking during operation, even at high speeds. And when the job is finished, the mixing head can be easily removed for cleaning.

With maximum convenience and use of space available, the Vortexer™ has a three position variable speed rotary dial that provides pre-set speed controls (1000, 2000, 3000 rpm) for continuous or intermittent mixing.

This functionally designed mixing head increases productivity and reduces cost as well because there’s no need to purchase other mixing heads…this one can do it all. There’s no need to purchase another mixer…The Vortexer does it all. And the flexibility of this unit saves time in the lab by responding to researchers needs with great versatility.
