Offering better sensitivity than EtBr, our SmartGlow™ Loading Dye with Stain for Nucleic Acid Electrophoresis Gels is the smart and safe choice for your lab.
Unlike other safe dyes, SmartGlow™ excites in BOTH the UV and Blue light (Blue LED) spectrum.
SmartGlow™ Loading Dye is supplied at 6X concentration, and only needs to be added to the samples before pipetting into the gel wells. This method eliminates the possibility of contamination of glassware, plasticware, and the gel running tank as can happen with EtBr.
Using SmartGlow™ Loading Dye, it is not required to add any stain to the gel or running buffer.
After electrophoretic separation, view and document your results using a UV or Blue Light Illuminator.

Protocol:
1. Prepare 100ml of agarose or polyacrylamide solution
2. Mix gently to and make sure there are no air bubbles in the mixture
3. Allow the solution to cool to about 60°C to 70°C then pour the gel(s).
4. Mix samples and DNA markers with SmartGlow™ Loading Dye at a 1:5 (dye to sample) dilution.
5. After the separation is complete, view the gel using a UV or blue light illuminator.
